2 Nephi 32:3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.
My favorite class was on Adam and Eve given by Alfonso Gaskill. He taught us a lot about the symbolism involved, and many of the misconceptions that we have of them. What he tried for us to understand the most was that the story of Adam and Eve is not about the historical event. Most of the accounts that we have in the scriptures, and in the temple, is about the 'story' of Adam and Eve and not about the historical event. We must understand that it is not about Adam and Eve, it is about you and me. It is symbolic of our personal journey through life. As we go through the temple, or read through the accounts, we should quit taking things so literal, and put ourselves in the place of Eve and ask ourselves what we can learn and apply from this particular part of the story. It was a great class!
